Cybersecurity• Cybersecurity (साइबर सुरक्षा) is the protection of internet-connected systems, including hardware, software and data, from cyberattacks.
• Joseph Nye has discerned 4 different types of threats to cyberspace:
1. Cyber Warfare | Cyber Espionage | Cyber Crime | Cyber Terrorism
Money Laundering• Money that is not fully legitimate in the hands of the owner for two possible reasons:
1. Money generated from illegal activities
2. Money generated from legal activities but undisclosed to authorities
Black Money• Money that is not fully legitimate in the hands of the owner for two possible reasons:
1. Money generated from illegal activities
2. Money generated from legal activities but undisclosed to authorities
Organized Crime• Organized crime is a continuing criminal enterprise that works to profit from illicit activities that are often in great public demand. (Oxford Dictionary)
• They are distinct from traditional crimes (such as larceny and assault) because they involve planning, multiple participants, and require corrupt measures such as threats to maintain and protect their ongoing criminal activities.
Terrorism• Terrorism is a form of political violence that aims to achieve its objectives through creating a climate of fear and apprehension.
• Types:
1. Ethno-Nationalist Terrorism e.g. LTTE, Naga insurgency
2. Religious Terrorism e.g. ISIS
3. Ideology Oriented Terrorism e.g. Naxalites, Ku Klux Klan (right wing)
4. State-sponsored Terrorism e.g. Pakistan
5. Narco Terrorism e.g. Pablo Escobar
6. Eco Terrorism e.g. Ted Kaczynski
